If you have extra home improvement materials lying around that are taking up needed space, don’t throw them out, and don’t spend money on dumpster fees. Consider donating to Community Warehouse. There are great benefits to you by donating to us.
By donating to Community Warehouse, you are providing those in under-served areas of Milwaukee an improved quality of life. We take new and unused home improvement materials and sell them to residents in Milwaukee’s Redevelopment Zone for approximately 75% off the regular retail value. You can help us turn distressed areas into vibrant neighborhoods.
Here are the ways you can benefit from donating to Community Warehouse:
Save space: Storage space is precious and by donating to us you are making room and getting rid of what you no longer need. Free space means improved efficiency, happy staff, room for new inventory and ultimately more cash flow. Drop off as part of your donation. If you’re unable to deliver, we can arrange a pickup.
Save money: Extra material left over from big projects often requires extra dumpsters that can be quite costly. By donating to Community Warehouse, you decrease the amount of waste in your dumpsters and save money on dumpster fees. In times like these, every dollar counts and this is an easy way to save.
Save the environment (and look good doing it!): Reuse, reduce, recycle! The “green” movement is upon us and your customers are concerned about the environment. They want to know what your company is doing to help. Your donation to Community Warehouse signifies your commitment to doing your part by freeing up landfills. You can promote your business as eco-friendly, which can give you a competitive edge with new customers and keep your current customers happy.
Save the community: A large number of homes in Milwaukee’s Community Development Block were built in the 1900s and suffer from decades of neglect. Many of the homeowners in these neighborhoods do not have any means of improving their old houses. By offering affordable home improvement materials, residents have the chance to improve their homes and feel better about where they live. Your donation to Community Warehouse helps to increase the quality of life for your neighbors.
Save on taxes: Community Warehouse is a 501(c)(3) non-profit which means that your donation can be tax deductable. Ask your accountant for more information. Our IRS # is 81-0549816.
Stay positive: Community Warehouse is working to help Milwaukee residents who do not have the means to be customers at regular home improvement stores. We offer many of the products they need at a steep discount, and are able to help jump-start their projects, eventually turning these non-customers into potential customers for you. Regardless if they start their projects at Community Warehouse and finish elsewhere, we’re just glad we can help. By partnering with Community Warehouse, you’re helping us make the impossible projects possible.
When donating…
We will take any major new and unused home improvement materials in working condition. No quantity is too small. All materials are sold for 75% off the recommended retail price. At Community Warehouse, we not only provide materials for members, but we also provide a sense of dignity and value. When deciding if something is the right quality, ask yourself—Would I want this in my home?
