Our Mission and Values
We Exist…
The Community Warehouse exists to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by serving the neighborhoods and non-profits of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We are a non-profit, faith-based organization set up to provide people in the Milwaukee community with affordable home and facility improvement materials. Our goal is to provide the resources that are needed for rebuilding Greater Milwaukee’s low-income communities and as a result, significantly improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods.
We Serve…
The Community Warehouse is a membership organization with members consisting of residents, property owners, and non-profit organizations that are located within Milwaukee’s designated redevelopment zone (see CDBG map). This area is approximately located from Silver Spring Rd (N) to Cleveland (S) and from 1st (E) to 60th (W) streets.
We Offer…
The Community Warehouse offers materials at approximately 75% off original retail value. We are enabled to do this because of our generous donors (manufacturers, retailers, builders, contractors and individuals) who have embraced our mission and values by donating new home improvement materials.
We Value…
The Community Warehouse values excellent customer service with available and friendly employees. We value flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of our customers. We value a clean, well-stocked and well-organized warehouse with a wide variety of easily accessible and clearly marked materials. We value respect and integrity as a business and as employees.
We are Motivated…
The Community Warehouse is motivated by the love Jesus Christ has for the people of Milwaukee. As followers of Christ, we love because He loves and we serve because He serves. We extend His grace and truth to others because He has extended it to us. We endeavor to “offer hope and change lives one household at a time” by offering both material and spiritual resources to those in need. We believe Jesus calls and enables us to love in practical ways by meeting material needs. We also believe that the answer to the deepest need of every human heart is found in relationship with Jesus Christ and that He offers this relationship to all who place their faith in Him. As a result, we are compelled to share and serve in ways that invite those in Milwaukee to encounter the love Jesus has for them.
