Upcoming Events and Dates - Member Appreciation & Health Fair, Dec 12th

  • Member Appreciation Sale Event is going on THIS SATURDAY, December 12 from 9am-3pm. All product in the store will be an extra 25% off our already great everyday values. As always, there will be food and music available to all.
  • ALSO, Saturday Dec 12th, 10am-2pm, FREE BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS. Community Warehouse will be hosting a health fair put on by the following organizations: Alzheimer's Association of Southeast Wisconsin, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Community Advocates, Grand Avenue Club, Independence First, Walker's Point Clinic, 16th Street Community Health Clinic, Wisconsin Well Woman Program, and others! In addition to blood pressure screening, Information will be available about a variety of different health issues. All of these organizations will be providing referrals to other services they offer as needed. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with so many resources in one location.
  • Thursday, Friday, Saturday, December 24, 25 & 26, Community Warehouse will be CLOSED in honor of Christmas and the birth of our Savoir, Jesus the Christ. We will be open again on Tuesday, Dec 29th.
  • Friday, January 1, 2010, Community Warehouse will be CLOSED for New Year's Day.

Volunteers

As in all non-profits, volunteers are part of the life blood of our organization. We can survive with our regular staff. We can only thrive with the help of volunteers.  We have many needs and to see the complete list, I encourage you to click here.  However, we do have an urgent need:

  • As the year is winding down, we are receiving many requests for product donations that we need to pick up. We need extra drivers to help us pick-up these product donations with our trucks. These extra shifts are between Dec 13 and Dec 31. If you are available to help out on a regular basis for a 4-hour block of time between 6 am and 4 pm, please click here to send us an e-mail.

 

Since Thanksgiving, four volunteer groups spent over one hundred hours helping us clean up our store for this event.  Thank you so much!

 

Year-End Giving

As you look at year-end financial giving, please consider us as part of your plan. In the past 12 months, we have served 50% more households than ever before. Your financial contributions help us continue to grow our services to the city. Many companies, like GE Healthcare, have matching programs where your dollar in matched or even doubled. Consider the cause we serve and pray about supporting us in our mission to serve Milwaukee's underserved neighborhoods. You can make checks payable to Community Warehouse, Inc. and mailed to: 521 S. 9th St., Milwaukee, WI 53204. Since we are a public charity, your gifts to us may be tax deductible. Please ask your tax advisor for more information.

 

Schedule Change

Starting Friday, December 18, Community Warehouse will close on Fridays at 6pm. Please note this schedule change!
